THE FILM

Our documentary is a social justice film that challenges the notions of beauty and centers on the lived experiences of adults with disabilities.

WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR ART!

We are looking for art created by adults with disabilities focused on the theme of what beautiful means to you. In a social media driven culture humankind faces superficial concepts of beauty daily. We are flooded with unrealistic ideals of how one should look and act. In addition to the educational components of our film, the underlying theme dismantles the concept of beauty and highlights strengths and innate qualities that humans encompass raising awareness.

For more information please visit our website wearethemostbeautifulpeople.com. If your art makes it on screen, your name will be in the credits for the film. Each artist will have to sign a Film Release to be included.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. An artist may submit 1-3 pieces.  

  2. Submissions will be accepted via email in jpeg format via email to [email protected] .  These images will be considered for marketing media for the documentary film.  Please send quality images. 

  3. Please include contact information (name, address, email, phone). 

  4. All submissions should include a short (one paragraph) written bio. Please include how your disability has impacted your life and details about how your piece reflects the theme in the artist call.    

  5. Sizes from 8”x10” up to 24”x30”

  6. All submissions should include for each piece of art: Title of piece, date created, media, dimensions. Submissions that are NOT complete with the above requirements will not be selected.   

  7. We will not accept forwards to websites for show submissions. 

  8. Deadline: August 15, 2023

  9. Replies to submissions will occur within one weeks turn around. 

  10. Submissions limited to adults (18 years or older) with disabilities only.
